Pen nerds love the Zebra Sarasa Gel Pen for its smooth, fast-drying ink and comfortable grip section. Watch the video below to see the Sarasa in action, and keep reading for a detailed look at each pen in the lineup.
Additionally, some pens like the Sarasa Dry or Dry X20 feature inks that dry in less than a second on most papers.
The dry time and water test in the image above were created with the Zebra Sarasa Clip on the 80 gsm Rhodia DotPad. Inks tend to take longer to dry on Rhodia than on more absorbent papers like printer paper. For the water test, we allowed the writing sample to dry for fifteen minutes before soaking it in water.
The Dry X20 Gel Pen has a regular clip and not a binder clip.
Every Zebra Sarasa features a retractable tip. Almost all of the gel pens have rubber grips, too. The Sarasa is also available as multi pens, some of which include mechanical pencil components.

The secret lies in the shock-absorbing spring inside the Sarasa Nano’s barrel. When you press the tip against the barrel, the spring allows the tip to retract slightly. This creates a cushioned feel that prevents the tip from wiggling and creating imprecise lines as you write.
The Nano is also available in a 0.38 mm tip size.
The Zebra Sarasa Clip Decoshine Gel Pen is available in beautiful metallic colors. The colors show up nicely on white paper, but the JetPens team especially recommends using them on toned or black papers.
The Zebra Sarasa Clip Marble Gel Pen combines multiple colors into one refill. The inks blend as you write, creating a cool marbled effect! Some of the inks are more subtle because the inks are similar colors, but Hawaiian Pineapple and Blueberry Smoothie have especially noticeable effects.
Lovers of pastel hues should pick up Zebra Sarasa Clip Milk Gel Pens. These colors work well on both light and dark paper, and can even write on glossy surfaces like photo paper. In our tests, we found that the Milk Gel Pens have a more noticeable writing sensation (also known as feedback) than other 0.5 mm Clip Gel Pens.
Zebra Sarasa R Gel Pens feature dye-based inks that have 27% more color density than standard pigment-based Sarasa inks. Black inks look darker and colored inks look more colorful. Sarasa R Gel Pens have minimalist white bodies with matching color accents on the clip and clicker.
